On April 20 a few PHS art students along with Mrs. Stites attended the TRAC Art Festival in Kewanee IL.  Upon arriving at the school the students helped set up their work among over 700 other pieces of work from other students in our conference.  During the judging process the students had the opportunity to attend workshops, including book binding, flower crown construction, acrylic landscape painting, water- color pet portraits, and Initials typographical design to name a few.   They ate dinner together and attended a college fair that focused on schools with specialties in art and design majors.  To end the evening awards were given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place as well as honorable mention in 29 different categories!  It was judged by the Figge Art Museums Fine Arts Curator. Overall it was a wonderful evening of Arts and Education!

Abbie Shute – 2nd place with her Acrylic painting: “Mountains” 
Alliyah Shurts – 2nd place with her colored pencil drawing titled: “Spoonful of Sugar” 
Abigail Brown – 3rd place for her Board game  ” Art Class: The game”
Abbie Shute – 3rd place in the Watercolor category with “Apples”
Haylee Mancini –  3rd place for her colored pencil drawing titled: “Unsure” 
Brooklyn Miceli – 3rd place in scratchboard for “The Wanderer”  
Hailey Paterson  – 3rd place in 3D crafts with her needlepoint titled “Nancy” 
Brennon Mills –  honorable mention for his Chalk drawing titled  ” I Am What You Made   Me” 
Alliyah Shurts – honorable mention for her charcoal drawing: “Deconstructed” 
Allie Leone – honorable mention for her board game “Plant Store Run”
