Princeton High School Drama Department presents two short works filled with both terror and laughter: Dracula by Crane Johnson, adapted from the novel by Bram Stoker, and Cheating Death by Kamron Klitgaard. Shows will be on Friday October 3 at 7PM and  Sunday November 1nd at 2PM in the Sally Skinner Auditorium.

Based on the classic Victorian novel, Crane Johnson’s Dracula finds Dr. Seward (Aiden Robinson) and Mrs. Harker (Mia Sluis) fighting to save Lucy (Hanna Claiborne) from a mysterious illness brought on after visiting their mysterious neighbor Count Dracula (Alex Killin). They enlist the help of famed metaphysicist Professor Van Helsing (Tricia Kloepping) and the young servant Abigail (Millie Arteaga) while the strange patient Renfield (Andrew Stocking) warns them of the oncoming danger.

Klitgaard’s Cheating Death is set in a mental hospital as a group session is waiting to start. Unbeknownst to the group of Sam (Grace Nesbitt), Bob (Victor Dhuy), Ann (Eliana Carlson), Deb (Tessa Thornton), Ron (Matthew Yepsen), and Sue (Luise Stueber), Death (Anna Boughton) has come calling. Unfortunately for Death, she forgot her list and asks for help identifying the intended victim. Needless to say, the group is unwilling to just go along with it.

PHS Director of Drama Joan Simpson will direct the production with student director Melanie Zimmerman. Stage managers are George Keutzer and Illyana Jones. Tickets may be purchased at the door–$7 for adults with open seating.  Princeton High School students will get in free with their student IDs.
