“Elizabeth Orwig Selected as Princeton High School DAR Recipient”

Ms. Elizabeth Orwig, the daughter of JD and Shelley Orwig, has been selected as the Class of 2020 Princeton High School DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) Good Citizen Award winner.  This award is sponsored by the Princeton-Illinois Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

This DAR Good Citizen Award is presented to a senior based on qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree. Ms. Orwig was selected for this honor by the faculty and her classmates. 

Throughout high school, Ms. Orwig has been involved in cross country, track, poms, FFA, Spanish Club, Office Helpers, Year One, Science Club and Student Council, earning various honors and awards in each activity. She has been selected as an Illinois State Scholar, National Honor Society member and Class President. She also serves as President of the Bureau County 4-H Club. She has volunteered in a variety of community organizations, including church activities, PROMise and 4-H. Her future plans include attending Western Illinois University to pursue a degree in Agricultural Education.

“Remi Rawlings Selected as Princeton High School SAR Recipient”

Ms. Remi Rawlings, the daughter of James and Diana Rawlings, has been selected as the Class of 2020 Princeton High School SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) Outstanding Citizen Award winner.  This award is sponsored by the Captain Zeally Moss-Illinois Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

The SAR Outstanding Citizen Award is presented to a student in recognition of high ideals of character and citizenship. Ms. Rawlings was selected for this honor by the faculty and her classmates.

Throughout high school, Ms. Rawlings has been involved in basketball, Scholastic Bowl, theater, stage crew and Year One. She has earned the honors of sportsmanship award, Student of the Month and Illinois State Scholar. She has volunteered in various organizations, including Tabitha’s Hands, mission trips, tutoring, BP Power and church groups. Her future plans include attending a four-year university to pursue a dual major in Biology and Psychology.
