Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country Team for advancing to sectionals with a 6th place team finish at the Rock Falls 1A Regional.
Sophomore Lauren McMillan cracked the top 10 with a ninth-place time of 20:24, a season best. PHS also scored with 17th Elizabeth Orwig (21:02) and 26th Bekah Workman (21:33), also with season bests, plus 47th Casey Schertz (23:00) and 59th Kenley Grimmer (23:48).
“Our girls did a fantastic job. Coming in, we knew that there were eight teams with a chance for the top seven qualifying positions. I had us sitting in seventh with another team just six points behind us on paper. So we knew it was going to be tough, but we came through and finished a spot higher than I’d projected,” PHS coach Pat Hodge said.
“Almost everyone did what they were supposed to do or better. I am very proud of them.”
